Growing up as an athlete, Helen always had an interest in orthopedics and how she can help others with her knowledge. Her treatment philosophy is to encourage individuals to become independent with improving their quality of life through active treatments. In addition to orthopedics, Helen feels strongly about helping the pregnant and postpartum population with their orthopedic issues to improve their comfort in this transition phase of their lives. With her pregnant patients, Helen guides them through exercise treatments to improve their aches and educates them on laboring positions to help progress labor. With postpartum patients, Helen assists in improving their postpartum recovery towards their pre-pregnancy level. Helen graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s in Science degree in Kinesiology. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and completed her internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is a graduate of Good Shepherd Penn Partners’ Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Physical Therapist. Helen has taught in teaching health sciences and physical therapy at the undergraduate and graduate level at local universities. Outside of work, Helen enjoys training to run marathons and playing with her dog and cat.
