LSVT® BIG & LOUD rehabilitation therapies help individuals with Parkinson’s disease improve their ability to move and communicate more effectively. These two programs have been developed and scientifically researched over the last 20 years.

LSVT® BIG
LSVT® BIG is a specialized physical and occupational therapy program which applies the principles of LSVT® LOUD to limb movement. Patients perform repetitive, exaggerated whole body movements in order to retrain the body to move more normally. LSVT® BIG aims to help those with Parkinson’s disease regain mobility and dependence in performing daily activities.

Improvements with LSVT® BIG treatment include:
  • Faster walking with bigger steps
  • Improved balance
  • Increased trunk rotation
  • Improved activity of daily living performance
  • Larger movements and motions
  • Increased mobility
Teatment involves 16 sessions over 4 weeks with four, 60-minute sessions a week.

LSVT® LOUD
LSVT® LOUD is an intensive speech treatment program for individuals with Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders. It improves vocal loudness, clear speech, and swallowing by stimulating the muscles of the voice box and speech mechanism through a series of specialized voice training exercises. Individuals with Parkinson's often experience common speech problems such as a soft voice, monotone speech, mumbled speech, and hoarse voice. LSVT® LOUD therapy can help restore patients’ confidence in their ability to communicate more effectively.

Improvements with LSVT® LOUD treatment include:
  • Increased vocal loudness
  • Improved speech intelligibility
  • Increased facial expression
  • Increased confidence
Treatment involves 16 sessions over 4 weeks with four, 60-minute sessions a week.
