Feeding Therapy

Pediatric Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists with advanced training work with children who are having difficulty with feeding and eating. 


Reasons to have your child evaluated include the following:
  • Slow/poor weight gain
  • Dysphagia, Aspiration
  • Coughing
  • Gagging
  • Wet sounding voice
  • Difficulty with breastfeeding
    • Poor latch
    • Lengthy feeds
    • Fatigue/falling asleep at the breast
    • Strong letdown
    • Suspected or repaired tongue tie
  • Difficulty with bottle feeding
    • Increased liquid loss/spillage
    • Poor latch
    • Lengthy feeds
    • Fatigue/falling asleep while feeding
    • Need to add rice cereal or oatmeal to bottle
  • Difficulty transitioning to baby food/purees
  • Difficulty with transitioning to table/solid foods
  • Picky/selective/restrictive eating
  • Reflux/GERD
